Novice Class
Monato Esprit : Novice Class Character Image Among these Birdians, the ones that have just stepped into the game or Birdians with level under 10 are called Novices. Their biggest feature is although they do not have specialized status or skills, they can experience the skills of higher classes beforehand, which provides them with information of the jobs they will later select. Every class starts as a Novice as they are the most basic of everything.

Getting ready for the journey
So now you appear in the game, awesome! You wake up in Kai Falls Plaza, remember tar you can make your map bigger by clicking on the little mag glass. The map is very important in locating various places around town. So go ahead and check out the little town, and be amused.

Ok once your done having fun, look at your map and head towards the area labeled Blacksmith. The woman working sells weapons and the guy standing around sells armor. As for what weapon to select, the differnce isn't really major, you will be doing crap for damage no matter what. So either spend money or don't. As for armor, pick the one that gives more defens and magic defense. The red ones are for style.

Oh yeah, 99% of people's favorite little toy are the wings. Head on over to the General Store, an NPC right next to it sells them to you for about 5,300. Now keep in mind they seemed to have gotten the names mixed up. Angel Wings are the short ones while Devil Wings are long.

Now that you are all set, lets get to level 10!
You can choose one or both ways, either strait killfest to level 10, or quest and not so much of a killfest.

If you decide the second one, run around town and collect as many quests as you can, head out the west gate and talk to the old man by the house just out the gate, and do your quests. They give you a nice sum of EXP but for the most part I chose killfest.

Once you are indeed ready for said killfest. You will want to seek out an area with the lovable Keppa Family. Yep, freaky onion things that try and eat you. These bad boys will feed you all the way to 10. Why? Allow me.

Level 1, 10-14 EXP

Level 2, 12-17 EXP
Keppa Mage

Level 3, 13-20 EXP

Now compared to the bees and other assorted bugs in the area, Keppa give the same to slightly less EXP. but Keppas have half to less than half the HP of the said bugs, ando have less defense and evasion. Nifty!

Keppas and Keppa Fighters usually have about the same HP, give or take 20-50 here and there. Keppa Mages usually have about double Keppa Fighters HP so I usually dont hunt them, on the up side is they seem to get hit more often.

So find yourself a nice camping ground with 2-3 Keppa, try and get fighters or normal. And have fun! Generally you will never have 3 of them dead at one time so 4 isn't needed, but if you find a spot with 4, good for you.

Have fun slaying them, it can get a little boring because it's the same monster over and over again, but it does seem to be worth it. Plus if you can find said camp ground, it reduces runing times from other mobs and quests.

I have also noticed that the area in the very bottom left corner has more Keppas than anywhere else out the west gate, but the damned things try to run more often there than anywhere else. If you go out the south exit of town and head into the vinyard area, it's a decent ground for them as well.

Now I bet you're just itching to know where they are? Well, you can find them via the south and west exits of the starting town. They normally spawn in the little indents made for the crops so just cruise around untill you find some. On the map to the south, I would stick inside the vinyard, where the actual vines are. Also on your map, (it's always there in our time of need) I found there to be a nice sum of Keppas around the inner edges of this vinyard, especially to the left hand side.

After reaching level 10, you are now eligible of changing to your desired class! Say goodbye to the Novice days and prepare for the real challenge. You have to do the quest to change to the class you desire. That is, of course, covered by the other sections of the site!

Still stuck and confused? Ask and discuss about the Novice class at the Novice Forum.
